The Easterlands

The Sandsea

The Mysterious Sandsea is home to creatures not seen anywhere else in the entirety of the Empire. It is the seat of the Temple of the Poison Gods, ruled by Sshaltsurr. The Dunes of the Sandsea are almost liquid and allow for the sailing of great ships across them, directly from the river into the sand itself. The Elves have spent decades studying the sands of the Sandsea, and comparing it to the beaches of the other island nations of Henniswyyr, but could no find anything that would make it act like water the way it does. The Nagas smugly refuse to admit to there being any secrets behind it. Just as they refuse to explain the monsters that seem to have no common background unlike the various, though common monsters in the rest of the Empire.

There is also the strange Oasis, a small island off the coast of the Sandsea that is miraculously fertile. The Nagas use it for farmland, but despite being in the same conditions as the dry, arid Sandsea, it is fertile and causes plants and herd animals to bloom and grow as thuogh it is in the Heartland or the Ironwood. There are rumors, mostly from the Great Library of the Elves that there may be magic behind it, and that the Nagas are behind it, but the Nagas will not say what causes the Oasis, simply that it is a blessing from their Gods.
